The Sucroflex reflactence colorimeter is used for the color classification of white sugar as the most eye-catching quality factor of sugar is its color, which may vary from brilliant white to yellow-brownish tones. ICUMSA, the International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis, has defined a color type scale for color grading of white sugars. It covers a range from 0 to 6, whereby 0 corresponds to a sugar of maximum whiteness, while 6 indicates a highly colored low-grade white sugar
Features

Measuring principle

- Photoelectric sphere photometer for measuring the green/red reflectance ratio of crystal sugar
- Based on R(495)/R(620) reflectance ratio measurement at 495 nm and 620 nm
- Measuring range from 0.00 to 6.00 (19.99 *) ICUMSA - Color Type Units (CTU)
- Calibration facility for the start of the range and the end of the range
Features

- Precise color grading of white crystal sugars according to the ICUMSA color type scale
- Grain size differences have no effect
- Reproducible results, independent of the operator

*) The ICUMSA-defined colour type scale extends from 0 to 6 CTU. The usable instrument range of the Sucroflex reflectance colorimeter extends up to 19.99 CTU allowing color measurement also on brown sugars.
