Here’s a great idea for powering your digital camera using the power of the sun. Designer Weng Jie has come up with what he calls the Solar Camera Strap. As the name implies, what makes this camera strap different is the introduction of solar panels across the width of the strap. In addition to the casps you typically find at the end of a camera strap there is also a DC out which could be plugged into your camera.

As the Yanko Design backpack points out we already have backpacks with solar panels why not one for a camera strap? Considering the power hog of some digital cameras this would be a great way to extend battery life, especially for photographers who might find themselves on extended assignments which may include limited access to charge batteries.
